The Forty-Third General Assembly Meeting Arab War Risks Insurance Syndicate

On the occasion of its General Assembly, The Arab War Risks Insurance Syndicate (AWRIS) held a reception on Monday, 08/05/2023, followed by a gala dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel – Bahrain, in the honor of all participants from the member companies of AWRIS from Kingdom of Bahrain and other Arab countries.
The Technical Committee of AWRIS, which is now renamed as ‘Technical Board’, had its annual General Assembly meeting on Tuesday 09/05/2023 at the Rotana Downtown Hotel, attended by 44 representatives of its member companies. This constitutes 85% of the total eligible votes of the member companies. This level of participation is considered to be the highest percentage compared to previous meetings.
During the meeting, all the proposed agenda resolutions and recommendations were consensually approved by all members in addition to the approval of year-end results and balance sheet as at 31/12/2022. The positive achieved results show an increase in the net profit by 11.6% over the previous year.
On the other hand, this meeting witnessed the elections of the new technical board. During a smooth election process, eight (8) members were elected from top executives heading member companies in the Arab world (outside the Kingdom of Bahrain). Results of this election confirmed the following:
Mr. Ashraf Adnan Bseiso has been announced as the Chairman of the Board representing the Bahrain insurance market supported by Mr. Bassam Hussein as deputy chairman, and the following as board members:

· Dr. Ali Al-Wazaney
· Fatih Bekdache
· Sultan Al-Khomashi
· Omar Gouda
· Mohamed Mazhar Hamadeh
· Tareq Al Sahhaf
It is worth mentioning that the syndicate (AWRIS) is headed by its CEO Mr. Imad Abdel Khaleq
