The Arab War Risk Insurance Syndicate (AWRIS) hosted Mr. Samir Sabbagh (Client Manager for the Middle East and North Africa) at Munich Re.

During the meeting, which was held at the Syndicate’s headquarters in Bahrain with the presence of the Executive Management represented by the CEO of AWRIS ‘Mr. Imad Abdel-Khaleq’ and members of the Executive management and technical team at AWRIS, Mr Samir Sabbagh was briefed on the specialized reinsurance products provided by the Syndicate to its member companies and the latest developments and challenges in the Arab and international insurance/reinsurance markets.

Mr Sabbagh was briefed also on the most prominent current projects in the Syndicate (obtaining a credit rating from AM Best, Automation and digital transformation project, and the new identity of AWRIS). This meeting comes in line with the Syndicates efforts to endeavour and open new horizons and areas of cooperation with international companies such as Munich Re, which has a solid reputation and experience in the international insurance/reinsurance markets, as well as changing ideas for the purpose of introducing new reinsurance products.

It is worth mentioning that this visit from a Munich Re representative to AWRIS is considered to be the first of its kind in many years and is the first of many upcoming visits to follow for the sake of discussing further developments and ways of mutual cooperation between the two parties.
